Steve Richards
Massive bang for your buck — clear glass with just one minor layout gripe I picked up the Thrive HD 8x42s for a mix of hunting and general field observation/birding, and they punch well above their weight class. The Glass: The optical clarity and low-light performance you get for this price point are fantastic. Thanks to the ED glass and the generous 5.2mm exit pupil, light transmission at dawn and dusk is excellent. Images stay crisp right out to the edges, and the close focus is brilliant—you can get right up on a subject and still maintain a crystal-clear picture. Build & Ergonomics: They feel premium, robust, and well-armoured in the hand. The central focus wheel is smooth and easy to adjust precisely when tracking targets on the move. The Catch: My only real gripe is with the included harness system. The straps can be a bit slippery, and the small buckles on the binocular retainer loops have a habit of working themselves undone. It’s far from a dealbreaker and easily tweaked, but worth noting. Verdict: ZeroTech is setting a seriously high benchmark for budget-friendly glass. Backed by their unconditional lifetime warranty, you really can't go wrong.
